Frequently asked questions

Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. Merging happens entirely in your browser — your files never leave your device.
Is there a watermark or a file limit?
Neither. The merged PDF has no watermark, and there's no signup or hard file-count limit.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
Unlock it first, then merge the unlocked file here.

Combine PDFs without the friction

Merging PDFs is one of those small jobs that shouldn't need an account or an upload. You might be stitching a scanned contract back together, bundling invoices for an expense report, assembling a job application from a CV and cover letter, or combining chapters of a thesis into one file to submit. HivePDF does all of it in the browser: drop the files, drag them into the order you want, and download a single PDF — no watermark, no limit, no sign-up.

How ordering and quality work

Files are combined in the exact order shown in the list, so use the up/down buttons to arrange them before merging. Each source PDF keeps its own page size and orientation, and the tool copies the metadata from your first file. Nothing is re-compressed, so text stays crisp and selectable.

Good to know

Large files are handled in a background worker so the tab stays responsive. A password-protected file must be unlocked first. To reorder or rotate individual pages rather than whole files, that's a job for an organize tool; Merge works at the file level on purpose. And because everything runs locally, a confidential document never touches a server.
