About HivePDF

HivePDF is a collection of free tools for everyday PDF tasks — merging, compressing, converting to and from images, and signing. The idea behind it is simple: none of these small jobs should require an account, a subscription, a watermark on your document, or handing your private files to a stranger's server.

Everything runs on your device

Every HivePDF tool runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and Web Workers. When you open a PDF here, it is read into your browser's memory and processed locally — there is no upload endpoint, no backend server, and no database. You can load the site once, disconnect from the internet, and the tools still work.

Free, honestly

Because there's no server doing the processing, our running costs are close to zero — so there's no reason to charge per file or lock features behind a paywall. The tools are free with no sign-up and no watermark. In the future the site may show ads to cover hosting, but existing tools will always stay free and unrestricted.

What we don't do

We deliberately avoid features that would require uploading your files or that we couldn't do well in the browser — such as layout-perfect PDF-to-Word conversion or certified multi-party e-signatures. We'd rather do a focused set of tools genuinely well. HivePDF is built by IgniteCore Studio.
