How to Remove PDF Restrictions (Printing, Copying)

Some PDFs open without any password at all but still refuse to let you print or select text, because they carry owner-password permission flags set when the file was created.
Steps
- Drop your PDF above.
- Click Remove restrictions.
- Download the unrestricted PDF.
Restrictions, not passwords
This tool is specifically for files that don’t ask for a password to view but still block actions like printing or copying — it’s not designed to crack or bypass an actual open password. If a PDF demands a password before it will even display, Unlock PDF is the tool for that, and you’ll need to know the password; there’s no password-cracking here or anywhere in HivePDF.
When to use it
This makes sense when it’s your own document, or one you have the right to modify, and it was locked down by whatever software originally exported it. Removing the flags with the open-source qpdf engine restores normal printing and copying behavior without changing anything else about the file.
Notes
