Standardize your page size
PDFs arrive in all sorts of sizes, which is a problem when you need to print or combine them consistently. Resize PDF rebuilds every page onto A4 or US Letter, scaling the original content to fit and centering it so nothing is cut off or stretched.
Fit, not distort
Content keeps its aspect ratio — it's scaled to fit the new page and any extra space becomes an even margin. Pick "Match each page" to preserve each page's orientation, or force portrait or landscape across the document.
Notes and limits
Everything runs locally, so nothing is uploaded. To trim rather than rescale, use Crop; to fit several pages on one sheet, use N-up.
Points, pixels, and why sizes vary
PDF page dimensions are defined in points (1/72 inch), not pixels, which is why a page "sized" in an image editor or exported from different software can come out slightly larger or smaller than true A4 or Letter even when it looks right on screen. Resize PDF reads each page's actual point dimensions, works out the scale factor needed to fit the target size without cropping, and rebuilds the page at that scale.
Where mismatched sizes cause real problems
This shows up constantly when combining documents from different sources — a scanned Letter-size form merged with an A4 report, or slides exported at a nonstandard size sitting next to a Word document print. Printed at their native sizes, the pages come out different physical dimensions even stacked in the same PDF, which looks unprofessional and can cause printer trays to mishandle the job. Standardizing everyone to the same page size before merging avoids that.
Before you resize
If a page's content is meant to be read at a specific scale — a technical drawing with a dimension callout, or a form where fields must land at exact printed coordinates — rescaling can shift that even though nothing is cropped or visibly distorted, so it's worth checking anything measurement-sensitive closely afterward. Once every page in a document is a consistent size, Compress PDF is a natural next step if the file also needs to be smaller for sharing or upload limits.
