How to Resize PDF Pages to A4 or US Letter

PDFs arrive sized however the original software produced them — which becomes a problem the moment you need to print or combine several into a consistent, uniform document.

Steps

  1. Open Resize PDF and drop your file.
  2. Choose the target size (A4 or US Letter) and orientation.
  3. Click Resize, then download the standardized PDF.

Fit, not stretch

The content on each page keeps its original aspect ratio — it’s scaled up or down to fit the new page size and centered, so nothing gets squashed or stretched out of proportion. Any space left over after fitting becomes a clean, even margin around the content, rather than the content being forced to fill the whole page.

Mixed orientations

Documents assembled from multiple sources sometimes mix portrait and landscape pages. Choose “Match each page” to preserve each page’s own orientation while still standardizing its size to A4 or Letter — or force one orientation across the entire document if visual consistency matters more than preserving the original layout.

Notes

Everything runs locally, so nothing is uploaded during the process. To trim content rather than rescale the whole page, use Crop PDF instead; to fit several pages onto one printed sheet, use N-Up.

Will resizing stretch or distort my content?
No. Each page's content is scaled proportionally to fit the new size and centered — nothing is stretched out of shape. Any leftover space becomes a clean, even margin.
