How to Split a PDF into Custom Page Ranges

Sometimes cutting a PDF in two isn’t enough — you want a cover file, a chapter file, and an appendix file, all pulled out in one pass rather than splitting the same document over and over.

Steps

1. Drop your PDF above.
2. Type your ranges, one per output file — for example, 1-3, 4-6, 7-.
3. Click Split, then download the ZIP of separate PDFs.

Flexible range syntax

Each comma-separated range becomes its own file. You can mix multi-page ranges like 1-3, single pages like 7, and open-ended ranges like 10- to mean page 10 through the end of the document. Whenever the result is more than one file, they’re zipped together so you get a single download instead of a pile of separate ones.

Quality is preserved

This copies the original pages into each output file rather than re-rendering them, so nothing loses resolution or selectable text in the process.

Notes

Everything runs locally, so nothing is uploaded. If you just want to cut a document in two, or split every page into its own file at a fixed interval, Split PDF is the more direct tool. To pull out a single set of pages rather than produce multiple output files, use Extract Pages.
