How to Remove Blank Pages from a PDF
Updated July 13, 2026
Scan a double-sided stack on a scanner that only reads one side per pass, and you often end up with an empty page behind every sheet that had a blank back. Hunting those down by hand is tedious; this tool finds them for you.
Steps
- Open Remove Blank Pages and drop your PDF.
- Click Remove blank pages.
- Download the cleaned PDF.
How detection works
Each page is rendered at low resolution and measured for ink coverage. Genuine content survives that check even if it’s sparse — a page with a single faint stamp or a stray line isn’t mistaken for empty, and scanner speckle along the edges is tolerated too. Whatever pages are kept get copied through untouched, so their quality and selectable text stay exactly as they were.
When nothing changes
If the scan doesn’t have any blank pages to begin with, the file comes back unchanged and you’re told so — nothing is force-deleted just because you ran the tool.
Notes
Processing happens locally, so even sensitive scans never leave your device. For picking out specific pages by hand instead of relying on automatic detection, use Delete Pages; to reorder what’s left, use Organize PDF.
